The Farmington Civic Theater will feature expanded hours on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Jan. 21. The day will begin at 12:15 p.m., with Wreck-It Ralph (PG), which is nominated for an Academy Award as Best Animated Feature Film. Rise of the Guardians (PG), nominated for a Golden Globe Award as Best Animated Film, will first show at 12:30 p.m. Later in the day, look for The Perks of Being a Wallflower (PG-13) and Flight (R), starring Denzel Washington, who secured an Academy Award nomination for his role. The stirring words of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. highlight a video promotion for a day of activities in his honor, held Monday in Farmington Hills. The promo was posted on the video sharing website YouTube.com over the past week, by SWOCC (Southwestern Oakland Cable Commission) Studios. Another Farmington Hills restaurant is closed, but the Farmington Civic Theater will be open extra hours on Monday.
