Farmington Civic Expands Hours During School Winter Break
'Wreck It Ralph', 'Rise of the Guardians' open Dec. 26 at the city-owned theater.
Farmington area students will see expanded hours at the Farmington Civic Theater during the school break. Movies will start a little after 12:30 p.m. daily through Jan. 6, 2013. Currently on the schedule are Here Comes the Boom (PG), Taken 2 (PG-13) and ARGO (R). Rise of the Guardians (PG) and Wreck It Ralph (PG) start Wednesday, Dec. 26. The theater will be closed Dec. 24 with two sets of shows on Dec. 25, beginning at about 4:45 p.m. and 7 p.m. Show times are available at www.theFCT.com or 248-474-1951. KickstART Offers Free, Family-Friendly Super 8 Movie Night in Farmington
Mighty Mouse, Porky Pig and other cartoon stars are featured in these old-time films.
Remember Super 8 movies? Take a trip back in time Saturday, Nov. 10, 7 p.m., as KickstART Farmington presents "Animated, Short & Silent: 8mm Films for the Entire Family". Admission is free to the event, which will be held at Mike Greer Photography, 33316 Grand River. Everyone is asked to bring their own water bottles, to help make it a "green" event. Farmington Civic Theater Says Thanks with Free Popcorn Tuesdays
General manager Scott Freeman says attendance at the Civic is up 185 percent over two years.
Thanks to a busy summer, the Farmington Civic Theater is bringing back its popular Free Popcorn Tuesdays beginning Sept. 25. Scott Freeman, the theater's general manager, said that as of June 30, attendance is up 185% over two years. "Free Popcorn Tuesdays is a way to say thanks to all our fans," he said. All movie-goers will receive a free medium popcorn with each ticket purchased on Tuesdays. Showtimes can be found at thefct.com or by calling 248-474-1951.
