Farmington Council Member McShane: 'Do Nothing is Not the Thing to Do'

Citing concerns about the deadly shooting in Connecticut, she suggests options to involve Farmington residents in a conversation about health and safety. Do you agree with her ideas?

Newtown CT may be 700 miles away from Farmington, but city council member JoAnne McShane is feeling the impact of a deadly shooting at an elementary school there that resulted in 27 deaths, including that of the gunman.  At the close of Monday's city council meeting, McShane made two suggestions:  "I think to sit back and do nothing is not the thing to do," she said. Hello Sylvia, I couldn't agree more that this kind of knowledge is vital to the health of our community, but putting it in the "visioning" of the city council just makes it potentially more political than truly helpful.   more ›
