Farmington Area Weekend Brings Old Winery Market, YMCA Winter Blast

Celebration Closes Old Winery Market Season

Outside vendors and the Redwood Grill help wrap up the Farmington winter and early spring market.

Saturday's Old Winery Farmers Market, the last for this season, has all the makings of a real celebration. Market master Jean Smith says 13 vendors will be located in the area outside the Old Winery/Powerhouse building, with more than 30 inside, offering Michigan-made products and Michigan produce. New to the market, Red Wood Grill will set up to serve barbecued pulled pork and ribs, and Good Times Kettle Corn will be making fresh popcorn outdoors.  Four "garden talks" will be held, on topics that include saving seeds, fertilizing, herb gardens and raised bed gardening. The National Weather Service predicts a high of 35 and a low of 27.  Wednesday Night Sessions, a monthly reading series at Mentobe Cafe in downtown Farmington, tonight features authors Amy Elliott Bragg, Jeff Kass and Vievee Francis.
