Harrison Hawks Destroy North Farmington Raiders

The Hawks took a decisive 56-6 win at home over North Farmington in the cross-town rivalry game.

Rival teams from two Farmington Hills high schools met on the Harrison High football field Friday night. Harrison's Hawks trounced North Farmington High School's Raiders by a score of 56-6. The Hawks took an early lead, as Lorenzo Collins (#20) scored the first touchdown of the game. The Hawks completed a two-point conversion, taking the lead 8-0. With 3:37 left in the first quarter, the Hawks failed to complete a field goal attempt. North's Raiders responded with their only touchdown of the game, on a long run by #4, Chauncey Bridges. The Raiders' attempt at a two-point conversion was not successful, making the score at the end of the first quarter a close 8-6. It's football let the boys enjoy the game. No offense but the Hawks play teams that always lose their composure with personal fouls and no calls being in their favor just about every game. No excuses for any cheap shots if there were any but I didn't notice. Not much competition this game. Go Hawks and keep the momentum going next Game.   more ›

North Farmington Football Riding High

The Raiders have won five straight games and are on the brink of their first playoff berth since 2005.

The North Farmington varsity football team enters the final two weeks of the regular season tied at the top of the Oakland Activities Association Blue Division, holding a 5-2-0 record on a 5-game winning streak. A win tonight at Bloomfield Hills Andover will give the Raiders at least a share of the OAA Blue title and their first post-season shot in six years. Going into the season, the Raiders had not won more than three games in a season since 2005, but head coach Todd Schultz liked what he saw from his squad. “We knew we had some good experience coming back, about half of the starters on both sides of the ball,” Schultz said. “We also knew we had some good talent coming up.” After utilizing a spread attack on offense the past three …

North Farmington Football Fails To Impress Home Crowd

Miscues hurt the Raiders in a 48-14 loss to Seaholm in season opener.

FARMINGTON HILLS – The North Farmington High School varsity football team will have to go back to the drawing board. The Raiders made mistakes all over the field in a 48-14 loss to Seaholm in its season opener Thursday on home turf. “We didn’t execute,” head coach Todd Schultz said. Looking at the scoreboard, he added, “If that’s not motivation, I don’t know what is.” The Raiders (0-1, 0-1 Oakland Activities Association Blue) put themselves in a hole early and just couldn’t recover. After a three and out on the opening drive, the special teams botched a snap on the punt. The ball went sailing into the end zone and Seaholm recovered to put North Farmington behind 6-0 just three minutes into the game.  “The punt was a big momentum changer,” …
