What Do You Want for Christmas?

World peace, good health, an iPad—tell Santa what's on your wish list!

Did you miss talking to Santa when he visited Farmington and Farmington Hills this year? Don't chase him down in a crowded, noisy mall. This year, you can tell Patch's virtual Old Saint Nick what you (or your kids) would like to see under your Christmas tree. Whether it's peace on Earth or a day at the spa, Santa is online (it's 2012, after all) and ready to listen. Post a comment below and tell us what you want for Christmas!

Video: A Special Christmas Eve Message From Santa

Enjoy our video message from Santa and find out answers to some of the most popular questions kids have for the man in red.

White Lake Patch scored an exclusive interview with Santa at his family's cabin in White Lake. Taking a small break before gearing up for tonight's deliveries, Santa sat down with Local Editor Brooke Meier to answer some of the most asked questions by kids. White Lake Patch: What do you do if there is a fire in the fireplace? Santa: That's pretty easy. I've been given a magic key. There are a lot of boys and girls who don't have a fireplace. This magic key allows me to go in the front door of those home on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day only. White Lake Patch: Have you even been bitten by a dog? Santa: No, because Christmas Magic takes over. When I get there the dogs are very friendly. As a matter of fact, most dogs help me. They come …

NORAD Tracks Santa Claus En Route to Michigan

Thanks to NORAD, children young and old can keep track of Santa Claus as he journeys around the world toward Michigan.

For 364 days out of the year, the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) spends its time tracking airplanes, missiles, space ships—anything flying near the United States and Canada. But on Christmas Eve, a team of volunteers spends the night tracking a very special pilot: Santa Claus. "We are the only organization that has the technology, the qualifications and the people to do it," NORAD said on its website. "NORAD tracks Santa, but only Santa knows his route, which means we cannot predict where and when he will arrive at your house." Santa usually starts at the International Date Line in the Pacific Ocean and travels west, NORAD noticed, meaning he moves from the South Pacific to New Zealand, Australia, Asia, Africa and Europe …

Just discovered this site through an 8 year old's eyes on Christmas Eve. It was so cool. While we watched Santa's progress, we clicked on all the green video cameras and had a history and geography lesson from those as well. Great website!!   more ›
