U.S. Attorney Announces Sentencing of 'Bank Robbing Pimp'
Arthur Payton was convicted in November of crimes that were investigated, in part, by Farmington Hills Police and Farmington Public Safety departments.
A serial bank robber tied to crimes in Farmington and Farmington Hills was sentenced Thursday to 45 years in federal prison, after having been convicted of four counts of bank robbery and one count of conspiracy to commit bank robbery. According to a press release from the U.S. Attorney's Office, Arthur Payton, 45, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Lawrence P. Zatkoff in Port Huron. According to the release, a federal jury convicted Payton in November 2012 of recruiting heroin-addicted prostitutes to rob banks in Oakland and Wayne counties. It is well known that organized criminal entities as well as lone criminals prey upon the weak in our society. They recruit vulnerable individuals whom they can use and abuse to their heart's desire. Using drug addicted prostitutes is discraceful and outrageous. Abusers and/or users of such women should be hung, and/or subject to capital punishment.
