Downtown Farmington Programs, Volunteers Win Awards

Main Street Oakland County Awards At the recent Main Street Oakland County Main Event Awards Presentation, Downtown Farmington was honored with two awards. Rhythmz in Riley Park, the free, summer Friday night live concert series produced by Scott Freeman was recognized as a 2012 Outstanding Event Series. Janet Bloom, DDA Events Planner, and Kristin Curle, Events Coordinator, proudly received the award. Under Freeman’s management, Rhythmz in Riley Park has consistently drawn increased numbers of attendees since its inception in 2008. Farmington's Rhythmz in Riley Park, Wish List Window Win Awards

The Main Street Oakland County program honors two Farmington Downtown Development Authority events.

Farmington Downtown Development Authority's Rhythmz in Riley Park concert series and Wish List Window holiday promotion took home honors from the Main Street Oakland County (MSOC) awards celebration, held March 8 at the Royal Oak Music Theater. The summer concerts, which draw hundreds of people to the Walter E. Sundquist Farmington Pavilion and Riley Park in downtown Farmington on Friday nights from June through August, won the MSOC Outstanding Event Series award. The 2013 series launches June 7, with returning favorite Paisley Fogg.  MSOC gave its Outstanding Retail Event award to the Wish List Window promotion, through which 11 downtown Farmington shoppers this year won more than $6,000 worth of merchandise from local businesses. Shop Downtown Farmington and Win Wish List Window Prizes

In its fourth year, the "shop local" promotion has doubled in size and will award 11 prize packages valued at more than $600 each.

The Downtown Farmington Wish List Window is more crowded than ever this year, as twice the number of merchants are participating in the "shop local" campaign.   Located at 33317 Grand River Ave., next to the Village Mall merchants, the window is filled with gift certificates and merchandise from stores within the Farmington Downtown Development Authority (DDA) district.  From Nov. 23 through Dec. 17, shoppers can pick up a stamp card at any participating location. Merchants will stamp the card with each purchase, and for every $100 you spend, your name is entered into the Wish List Window prize package drawing. Each of 11 winners will receive a prize package worth approximately $600, and the total value of the window is more than $6,000. A…

Downtown Farmington Shoppers Win Wish List Window Prizes

Six lucky winners each spent at least $100 at local stores during the holiday shopping season.

The Farmington Downtown Development Association (DDA) Wish List Window promotion generated more than $60,000 in local sales during the 2011 holiday shopping season.  The contest encouraged shoppers to fill cards that were stamped at participating merchants. After spending $100 in Downtown Farmington to complete their cards, Michaela Bunt, Stella Ojo, Bill Ott, Michelle Siskosky, Kristin Thomas and Kristina Wines were randomly selected as this year’s winners. Each prize package was worth around $550.  In 2010, the promotion resulted in $49,000 spent in downtown Farmington. “Our community is a strong supporter of our merchants, and we use this program to reward those loyal shoppers and also to gain new customers in downtown Farmington,” DDA …

Last Weekend for Downtown Farmington Wish List Window

Shop local for a chance to win a window full of prizes.

A downtown Farmington promotion to encourage shopping local this holiday season closes on Monday. Every $100 you spend at participating merchants gets you an entry into the drawing to win a Wish List of products and services donated by downtown Farmington businesses. Only purchases made through Dec. 19 qualify; winners will be announced on Dec 20.
