Bosch Consortium Receives $2.7 Million Federal Energy Grant

The Farmington Hills company leads a group working to make vehicles more fuel efficient.

A consortium led by Farmington Hills-based Robert Bosch LLC has received a $2.7 million federal Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Vehicle Technology grant.  U.S. Rep. Gary Peters in a statement released Wednesday said the grant will "help Bosch keep innovating our way toward a more fuel efficient automotive future. As we continue working together to strengthen our economy, funding for programs like this are crucial to ensure that the 21st century jobs of the future are created right here in the Greater Detroit region.” Sujit Jain, president of Bosch's Gasoline Systems Division, said the company is pleased that the Department of Energy has selected Bosch to lead the collaborative effort, which aims to solve the technical challenges …

Bosch-sponsored P-CEP Team Makes State Robotics Quarterfinals

The Michigan FIRST Championship was held this weekend at Eastern Michigan University.

A team of more than 60 students from Salem, Canton and Plymouth high schools, sponsored by Farmington Hills-based Robert Bosch LLC, made it into the quarterfinals of this year's FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Robotics Michigan State Championship, held this weekend at the Convocation Center at Eastern Michigan University. Team 862 entered their original, basketball-playing robot into the competition.  The Detroit Free Press reports that teams from International Academy in Bloomfield Township, Huron Valley Schools in Milford and Huron High School in Ann Arbor won the competition.  Did you get photos or video from this event?
