@ Jackie Mulvihill
Kaiser and I will be sure to say hi when we stop by this spring/summer.
Kaiser is rather excited, he wasn't much interested in the "adult beverage" part anyway.

Art, holding my tongue, when I have an opinion on something that I feel needs to be pointed out, is not one of my strong suits. Maybe that's why my nose looks like it does. :)

Forgive me, but...
Evidently, owning a tennis club is a pretty tough racket!

Jim:
I think it might be a good idea to take a look at the Civic Theater's financial performance under Mr. Freeman's stewardship prior to making a decision if it is prudent to award him additional compensation.

ReplyMost likely the right decision. Shooting someone one, two, maybe even three times is because you're scared. More than that shows malice in my book.

ReplyYou’re right Darren, it is about the kids, and the kids having fun. But, on a larger scale it’s also about our American culture and American tradition.
For hundreds of years, children have awoke on Easter morning and set about to look for their Easter basket filled with Easter eggs and whatever other goodies the Easter Bunny (not the “spring” bunny) hid the night before. It’s wasn’t a “spring” basket that contained “spring” eggs, it was an Easter basket with Easter eggs. This part of Easter is part of our culture and heritage, not a part of religious observance. Changing things not only robs children of part of their heritage, but steals a learning opportunity of American heritage and culture from people from other cultures.
Those that think that the Easter Bunny and Easter Eggs is of a major religious significance, have never been to a Christian Church on Easter morning.
I guess we’ll have to rename Santa to Father Winter if we continue along this line of thinking.

ReplyI'm a bit saddened that someone felt the need to rename an Easter Egg Hunt as a Spring Egg Hunt. Guess I'm an old fuddy duddy that believes if you're going to celebrate something that is traditional, you should call it by its traditional name.

Thanks Vera! That may indeed explain it.
