ReplyTwo weeks ago I had a man come to my door after dark (6:30 pm) with a container of Clorox wipes in his hands. He stated that he bet I was wondering why he was standing there with them in his hand. I immediately locked the screen door seeing that he did not have any identification, had nothing visible on him that would indicate he was selling something and sarcastically informed me that he could be on my property until 9 pm. After telling him that I was letting my dogs out and to leave, he backed out of my driveway, across my lawn, behind my shed and sped off preventing me from seeing his license plate. WL police came out immediately and stepped up patrols in my area that night.
Interstingly the officer told me that solicitors have to be registered with the city and are not allowed to be out past dark. It's good to know that the police are on top of who is allowed/registered to be in our neighborhoods. It helps to easily weed those out who are not.

ReplyLove Carmina Burana by Carl Orff! It evokes such passion, strength and spirit. I like it to work out to because it makes me feel invincible for a few moments even when all I want to do is take a break:)

ReplyI live near this bus stop and have heard gun shots start ringing out beginning at 6 am as kids are getting ready for school and their walk to meet the bus. The hunters at times are so close you can see them in them in the near distance. Trying to kayak on Grass Lake near the homes is also dangerous as my daughter and her friend rounded a corner of her friends property to find a hunter aiming a gun their direction while only a mere few feet from them. These hunters are dangerously close to residents and our children. I'm with Laura in asking how the children were not at risk when something like this is such a strong warning of what could happen next time.

ReplyLoved that place but will NEVER go back. My husband and I were checking out when we noticed our loaf of bread rang up .30 more than the tag reflected. When we pointed this out to our cashier another cashier from the other lane said that we must of switched the tag in a loud voice for other customers to hear! Seriously? Embarrassed we left our cart and went to notfiy a manager who stepped out of his office eating a sandwich in our face and said 'ok' and stared at us blankly. Needles to say we won't be back.

Approximately a month ago I had a man come to my door after dark. Never thinking it would be anyone but perhaps a neighbor, I answered it. Standing on my porch was a man with a container of Clorox wipes in his hand, no identification or other product that he could be selling. His truck was pulled up so close to my garage that I would have to leave the house in order to see it clearly. He asked if I knew why he was there standing with the wipes and said that he could be on my premesis until 9 pm if he wanted to. I informed him that he had 30 seconds to leave my property before I let my dogs out. He backed up across my lawn (1/2 acre) behind my shed and into the tree line to leave. My guess is that he did this to avoid me seeing his vehicle plate. I called the police who came to my house immediately and also informed me that solicitors with permits are not allowed to be out past dark. The police were not aware of anyone that had a permit to out in the neighborhood on the date this occured. Please be aware because this person had nothing on his person that make one think he was selling something and he tried to use a tactic that would be puzzling (Clorox wipes) to catch me off guard. Thankfully this did not work as I locked my door immediately. Be careful and contact the police if you should have an concerns because they were absolutely wonderful!!
I also have the window salesmen who are doing a job in my neighborhood bothering me.
