Botsford Trauma Center Saves Baby Who Swallowed Pacifier

The hospital's blog shares the harrowing story of how Livonia paramedics, Botsford emergency physicians and a surgical team work together to save Cameron Herrick's life.

Botsford Hospital emergency room physician Dr. Angel Chudler calls it the "scariest case" in her 10 years of medical practice.

The story of how Livonia paramedics, Botsford emergency and trauma center doctors and a surgical team saved the life of five-month-old Cameron Herrick was published Monday on the hospital's blog. A pacifier Cameron swallowed whole was blocking his airway, and while emergency room physicians were able to get oxygen to him past the obstruction, they couldn't remove it.

Read more about the harrowing experience, and why Cameron's mother, Adrienne Herrick, decided to share their story at botsford.org
