Concerts in Heritage Park Start Thursday with Dragon Wagon

Bring a blanket or chair and enjoy music under the stars in Heritage Park.

Summer concerts in Heritage Park start Thursday with Dragon Wagon performing in the amphitheater at 7 p.m.  

In case of inclement weather, the concert will be held at the Costick Center, 28600 Eleven Mile Road.

An eclectic, exciting group described as “bluegrass-folk-rock with a shot of Irish whiskey”, Dragon Wagon has a sound that pleases all ages, featuring originality and expert musicianship. The group has a hearty balance of mandolin, fiddle, guitar, bass and drums that create an infectious energy that makes you want to get up and dance.

  • June 27 Groove Council

Named “Outstanding R & B Artist/Group” at the Detroit Music Awards, Groove Council is a nine-piece horn-driven band that performs all the old favorite soul classics along with some new pieces, with an old school Detroit soul sound.

  • July 11 FCB Concert Band 

Our much-beloved Farmington band, performing a variety of classical and popular pieces from many eras, along with lively narration.

  • July 18 Bill Bynum & Company 

With songs both traditional and original, this band has a sound that’s at once “as comfortable as old jeans and fresh as new grass,” featuring guitar, pedal steel, fiddle, and bass along with great vocals.

  • July 25 Mass Transit 

This talented, eight-piece horn-based group will rock the park with a selection of favorite music and vocals from the past, including pieces from Motown, Chicago, and Earth, Wind & Fire, along with contemporary rock.

  • August 1 Persuasion

From classic Motown favorites from groups like the Temptations, to selections from Natalie Cole or Cee Lo, Persuasion presents a line-up of vocals and instrumentals that all ages will enjoy.

  • August 8 Parrots of the Caribbean 

A fabulous Jimmy Buffet Tribute Band, the Parrots make every concert a summer beach party with their great music, high energy, humor, and hilarious costumes!

  • August 15 FCB Big Band

Farmington’s own big band, playing favorite jazz and swing standards, along with vocal solos and informative introductions.

  • August 22 Farmington Community Chorus 

This wonderful 80-member vocal group sings a wide variety of selections, in a traditional end to the series.

Concert goers are encouraged to bring a blanket or lawn chair and a picnic dinner. There is no concert on July 4.
