FHortyworks Celebration Offers Fireworks and Fun

Turn yourself red, white and blue during this event in Founders Sports Park.

Celebrate the City of Farmington Hills' 40th birthday on July 3 at the “FHortyworks” Celebration, held from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Founders Sports Park on Eight Mile Road.

Formerly Farmington Township, the city incorporated in 1973 and has since grown to become the second largest in Oakland County. Joan Dudley, one of the city's first council members, recently told the Farmington Observer that an attempt by the City of Farmington to annex land helped nudge township officials to tackle the process of becoming a city.

“The roads were also an issue,” Dudley told the newspaper.
